The Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers used a big 6-run third inning to help push them to an 8-1 win over the Oblong/Hutsonville/Palestine on Thursday. BSE scored two batters into the game when Keelan Speagle led off with a double and came around to score on a groundout from Jayce Gillespie to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead. BSE would then load the bases for Bently Sanders, who would draw a walk to score courtesy runner Hunter Whitaker to make the score 2-0. The Bombers added on to their lead in the top of the third inning when Lucas Powell doubled to score Logan Lach, before Calvin Voelker followed suit to score Powell, giving BSE a 4-0 advantage. Speagled would then single up the middle to score a pair of runs to make the game 6-0, and Gillespie capped off the scoring with a 2 RBI double to make the Bombers lead 8-0.
