Altamont took an early lead over CHBC as the Bobcats struggled to score and the Indians ran away for a 57-26 win in a National Trail Conference contest on Friday night. Altamont used a balanced scoring attack to start moving their offense early with four players getting in the coring column while CHBC scored just five points on a pair of free throws and a three-pointer and the Indians took a 12-5 lead to end the quarter. A 10-5 second quarter run by Altamont pushed their lead to 22-10 over the Bobcats. The Indians would begin to really pull away in the third quarter as they outscored CHBC 21-9 as the Altamont lead grew to 43-19 by the end of the third quarter before a 14-7 run in the fourth capped off the 57-26 win for the Indians. Altamont improves to 16-8 on the season and to 3-2 in the NTC with no time off as they play again today, taking on Roxana at 4:30pm in the East Alton-Wood River Shootout. CHBC drops to 10-14 overall and to 2-5 in the NTC. They will play again on Tuesday at home against Patoka-Odin in Egyptian Illini Conference action.
