Brownstown-St. Elmo gave up just one point in the first quarter and despite CHBC having a much stronger second half, the Lady Bombers routed the Lady Bobcats 65-36 on Monday night in National Trail Conference and Egyptian Illini Conference action. Prior to the game, seniors Presley Williams and Addie Sasse and foreign exchange student Bianca Franchomme were recognized and honored. BSE won the opening tip and quickly ran out to a big lead, going up 21-1 at the end of the quarter. CHBC was able to find the basket a few times in the second quarter, but another strong quarter from the Lady Bombers had BSE leading CHBC 48-7 at halftime capped off by a big three-pointer at the buzzer drained by BSE junior Dayana Haslett from nearly two-thirds the length of the court away. CHBC was able to find some scoring flow in the third quarter, outscoring BSE 16-14 in the quarter, but still trailing 62-23 to end the third. The Lady Bobcats further cut down the Lady Bombers lead with a 13-3 run through the fourth quarter, but BSE closed out the big win 65-36. BSE improves to 24-2 on the season and will be back in action tonight at South Central in NTC play. CHBC drops to 4-18 on the season and will be at Sandoval tonight.
