SEB Runs By Martinsville in Second Half for EIC Win


St. Elmo-Brownstown gave up 20 first quarter points to Martinsville but only allowed 17 points the remainder of the game as the Eagles beat the BlueStreaks 56-37 in Egyptian Illini Conference action on the road on Tuesday night. After SEB was outscored 20-11 in the first quarter, the Eagles started to lock down Martinsville in the second quarter using a 16-7 run in the frame to tie things up at 27-27 at halftime. Holding the BlueStreaks to single digit scoring again in the third, the Eagles took a five point lead 40-35 heading into the fourth quarter where they locked down Martinsville, only allowing them two points over the last eight minutes while the Eagles capped off a 45-17 run through the last three quarters of the game to get the 56-37 win. SEB moves to 10-9 on the season and to 2-0 in the EIC. They get right back into action at home tonight as they host Edinburg.
