Vandalia boys wrestling made it a clean sweep, winning all four pool matches on Monday, including two shutouts, before beating Tremont in Championship Round 1 to move into the Gold bracket today. The Vandals opened their day with a 56-23 win over Mt. Zion before they shutout Quincy Notre Dame 78-0. They then got a big 60-18 win over Morrison and wrapped up pool action with an 83-0 win over Illini Bluffs to earn themselves the top seed for the pool as they moved into the 32-team Championship tournament bracket. In the Championship Round 1, the Vandals beat Tremont and will move into the Gold portion of the bracket where they will face Canton at 9:00am this morning. Vandalia is now 11-1 overall on the season in dual team action.
