Altamont Falls to DuQuoin By Three to Finish Fourth at SVHT


Altamont took an early lead but couldn’t hold off DuQuoin as they fell 67-64 in the Third Place game of the Sesser-Valier Holiday Tournament on Monday. Altamont was got out to a first quarter lead as Kade Milleville caught fire early with 11 points to put the Indians on top by six points, 16-10, to end the first quarter. Altamont would lose their lead by a slim margin, as they were outscored 22-15 despite seven points from Cooper McManaway and six points from Parker Bell in the second quarter as the Indians entered halftime down by one point, 32-31. DuQuoin just outscored Altamont in the third quarter, 19-17, as the Indians trailed 51-48 heading to the fourth quarter where both teams tacked on 16 points and Altamont was unable to overcome the small deficit late in the game and took the 67-64 loss. Altamont is now 6-5 on the season and will be off for three days and will jump start the 2026 portion of their schedule this Friday when they host Hillsboro.
