Dieterich won its final pool play game, CHBC went 1-1, South Central fell once and Ramsey fell twice on the second day of the Dieterich Boys Holiday Tournament on Saturday. Dieterich will try to go for a three-peat as champions of its own tournament after a 68-42 win over CHBC gave the Maroons a 3-0 record in pool play to earn their spot in the title game. The Maroons will take on Sullivan at 8:00pm on Monday in the title game.
CHBC used a 22-10 first quarter run to grab the lead and hold it for the remainder of the game in a 72-39 win over Ramsey to open their day. CHBC then wrapped up pool play against host Dieterich and after trailing by one to the end the first quarter, fell behind 34-23 at halftime and couldn’t stay close to the Maroons in a 68-42 loss. CHBC finishes pool play at 1-2 and will play in the Fifth Place game against South Central at 2:30pm on Monday.
South Central couldn’t stop a fast start by Robinson and was held to just four fourth quarter points as the Cougars fell to the Maroons, 63-40, as they wrapped up pool play at 1-2. South Central will take on CHBC in the Fifth Place game at 2:30pm on Monday.
Ramsey had its double day on Saturday and suffered a 99-37 loss to Red Hill to begin the day’s play. The Rams then wrapped up their pool play games with a 72-39 loss to CHBC. The Rams finished pool play at 0-3 and will play in the Seventh Place game against Grayville on Monday at 1:00pm.
