Altamont picked up its third win in a row, which was also their third National Trail Conference win in a row, as they beat Dieterich on Monday afternoon, 57-40. Most of the first quarter’s offense came from beyond the arc for the teams as the Lady Indians made three and the Maroons hit a pair of three-pointers and Altamont held a slim 12-11 lead to end the quarter. Dieterich outscored the Lady Indians 13-11 in the second quarter as the Maroons would be the team to have the slim lead at halftime, up 23-22. Altamont gained a little offensive momentum in the third quarter with an 18-8 run highlighted by seven points from Reagan Kuenstler and five from Ella Nelson as the Lady Indians took a 40-31 lead by the end of the third quarter. That scoring momentum kept rolling into the fourth quarter as Ada Roberts scored 10 of her 12 points in the quarter to lead a 17-9 run that pushed the Altamont lead out to double digits and finished off the win, 57-40. The Lady Indians move to 7-5 on the season and 3-1 in the NTC. They will have an extended break over the holidays before returning to play after the first of the year. They open up the 2026 portion of their schedule on January 3 for a Varsity Only contest at Robinson.
