Mulberry Grove snapped a four game losing streak and got their second win of the season while Ramsey dropped their sixth straight game as the Aces beat the Rams 62-46 in the Seventh Place game of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament on Saturday afternoon. Both teams would open the game strong offensively with the game knotted up at 18-18 to end the first quarter. Mulberry Grove would pull away to a , 11-point lead by halftime, going up 35-24 after a 17-6 second quarter run. Muche like the first quarter, the Rams and Aces would play even, with 11 points going up on both sides of the scoreboard in the quarter as Mulberry Grove maintained their lead 46-35 moving into the fourth quarter. The Aces outscored Ramsey 16-11 through the final eight minutes of play to pad their lead and finish the 62-46 win. Mulberry Grove senior Hagan Henrichsmeyer lit up the scoreboard in the game to the tune of 31 points, accounting for half of the Aces offense. Mulberry Grove moves to 2-8 on the season and will have a couple weeks off before returning to competition in the new year when they will be at home to take on Lebanon on January 6. The two teams will be meeting for the second time this season as the Aces fell to the Greyhounds 55-39 at their own Thanksgiving Tournament during the first week of the season. Ramsey drops to 1-10 on the season and will begin play in the Dieterich Boys Holiday Tournament on Friday with a tough pool play matchup right off the bat as they have to face host Dieterich at 11:30am. They will then play Red Hill on Saturday at 11:30am before getting a matchup that same day with CHBC whom they suffered a 73-44 loss to earlier this month.
