St. Elmo-Brownstown outlasted Patoka-Odin to advance to the Championship Semifinals while Ramsey couldn’t slow down the Cumberland offense and will fall into the Consolation bracket after action on the second night of the St. Elmo Holiday Tournament. In the first game, Ramsey stayed right with Cumberland during the first half of the first quarter, but the Pirates pulled away as the Ram trailed 26-10 at the end of the first quarter and then got down 47-21 at halftime. Ramsey was held to just ten points in the second half as they fell further behind and suffered the 82-31 loss. Ramsey drops to 1-8 on the season and will fall into the Consolation bracket on Friday.

In the second game of the evening, SEB jumped out to a 9-2 lead, but Patoka-Odin battled back and cut the Eagles lead to 11-10 at the end of the first quarter. An SEB 15-11 run fueled by four of the team’s seven three-pointers in the first half as the Eagles edged their lead out to 26-21 at halftime. The offense slowed on both sides of the ball in the third quarter with SEB holding a 35-28 lead at the end of the third and the Eagles used a 12 for 14 performance at the free throw line in the fourth quarter to close out the 51-43 win. With the win SEB advances to the first Championship semifinal game to take on Cumberland at 7:45pm on Friday while Patoka-Odin and Ramsey will play in the Consolation bracket at 6:15pm on Friday.
