Altamont got off to a slow start in a low scoring first quarter by both teams before a mid-game scoring surge gave the Lady Indians the 38-22 win over North Clay and their first National Trail Conference win of the season. Altamont and North Clay combined for just nine points in the first quarter as the Lady Indians trailed at the end of the quarter by a point, 5-4. The Lady Indians kicked things up in the second quarter with a 15-5 run fueled by a seven point quarter from Ella Nelson that put Altamont on top 19-10 at halftime. The Lady Indians held the Cardinals to just five points again in the third quarter while putting up 14 points, six from Sophia Long, as Altamont bust the game open and pushed their lead to 33-15. The Lady Indians were outscored and held to just five points in the fourth quarter, four from Kennedi Schultz, but they only allowed seven points to North Clay as they closed out the win, 38-22. Altamont moves back to the .500 mark on the season at 5-5 and is now 1-1 in NTC play. They will play their second NTC game this week on Thursday as they will host CHBC for a Varsity only matchup at 6:00pm.
