CHBC girls basketball drew one of their toughest conference opponents in their National Trail Conference opener and suffered a 62-18 loss to St. Anthony at home on Thursday night. The Lady Bobcats kept within five points of the Lady Bulldogs in the first quarter, trailing 11-6, but were then held to just four points in the second quarter as St. Anthony used a big run 20-4 to pull away from CHBC to lead 31-10. CHBC saw their deficit nearly double in the third quarter as they were again outscored 20-4 in the quarter and trailed 51-14 to start the fourth quarter. The Lady Bobcats held the Bulldogs to 11 in the fourth, but were held to four points themselves as they couldn’t come back and took the 62-18 loss. CHBC is 1-8 on the season and now 0-1 in the NTC. They will be off this weekend before returning to action on Tuesday at Vandalia.
