SEB Grabs Road Win Beating Tri-County on Saturday


St. Elmo-Brownstown boys basketball picked up its fifth win of the season, getting a 60-56 win at Tri-County on Saturday. The Eagles got on the scoreboard first but trailed 13-7 midway through the first quarter before a 14-0 run gave them a 21-13 lead at the end of the quarter. The Titans would close the gap to just two points with a run to start the second quarter but the Eagles would push their lead back out to eight points, leading 33-25 at halftime. SEB was held to eight points in the third quarter as they were outscored 14-8 and saw their lead shrink again to two points to 41-39 to end the third quarter. Tri-County tied the game up at 41-41 shortly after the quarter started but SEB pulled away again before the Titans were able to come back and take the lead 49-48. The Eagles kept fighting and closed out the game on a 12-7 run to retake the lead late and pull out the 60-56 win. SEB moves to 5-2 on the season and will head into a tough week of conference games as they play their second and third National Trail Conference matchups, going on the road on Wednesday to face North Clay before hosting St. Anthony on Friday night.
