Vandalia senior wide receiver and defensive back Kohnor Depew has been named to the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association’s All-State Team for the second year in a row. After being named 2A All-State a year ago, Depew picked up the honor in 3A for this year. Depew has had a record breaking season as he broke Marcus Zimmerman’s record for career receiving yards, now standing at 3,233 career receiving yards and also broke Zimmerman’s record of most career games with 100 or more receiving yards, now at 16 games with seven of those coming this season including a season high game of 235 yards in the Vandals season opening win. Depew also now owns the record for single season receiving touchdowns with 26, passing the previous record of 16, and owns the record for career receiving touchdowns with 53 after surpassing the previous record of 40. Depew and other All-State honorees will be recognized during the IHSA’s Championship weekend later this month.
