Monday marked the official start of boys basketball practice for the IHSA, and despite having low numbers due to the overlap with being in the third round of the playoffs, the Vandalia Vandals got off and running to start the 2025-26 season, and Vandals coach Joe Vanzo says it’s always exciting to get a new season started. With the football season still going, the Vandals were short some personnel for their start of practice. But, Coach Vanzo says that worked out just fine.
The Vandals are looking to improve on a 14-18 record from the season before. They will open their season taking on North Clay in the first game of the 2025 Cumberland Thanksgiving Tournament on November 24th.
