Interview with Altamont's Ben Roedl after Three Top 3 Finishes, Triple Jump Championship at IHSA 1A State Track Finals

I70Sports.com’s Erica Foltz spoke with Altamont senior jumper Ben Roedl after he turned in three Top 3 finishes, including claiming the Triple Jump crown, at the IHSA 1A State Track Finals at Eastern Illinois University over the weekend.

Roedl was able to secure a third place finish in the long jump before he grabbed a second place finish in the High Jump and capped off his State Finals with a dominating performance in the Triple Jump to win the State title in the event by 13 inches over the second place finisher. With his three top 3 finishes on the day, Roedl earned 25 points in the final meet of his high school track career. Those points earned him another uncommon feat as he finishes his high school track career with over 1,000 points, standing at 1,003 points. Those points combined with points from teammate Hayden Summers earned Altamont fifth place in the team standings for the State Finals.
