Pro Wire Athlete of the Week

Our Pro Wire Athletes of the Week for the Week of April 27th are Adam Atwood of Brownstown and Hannah Brown of Vandalia.

Vandalia High School Girls Track sophomore thrower Hannah Brown broke the school record in the Shot Put at Friday evening’s Cumberland Girls Invitational. Brown had a best toss of 11.01m, or 36′ 1.5″, to surpass the record of 36′ 0.25″ that was set by Riely Ward in 2021. With the school record and personal best toss, Brown has also regained her spot at the top of the rankings for the Altamont Girls 1A Sectional just 11 days before the Sectional Meet where Brown will look to qualify again for the IHSA Girls 1A State Track Meet.

BSE Senior Adam Atwood has been a leader on the mound, at the plate and in the field for the Bombers this year.  In his last start, Adam gutted through 5+ innings and was 2 for 3 at the plate as the Bombers got the 18 to 11 win over the Vandals.  In his start before that, Adam threw a gem going the distance allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks while striking out 14 in a 4 to 2 win over Mulberry Grove.
