The top of the order combined to go 10-17 with 8 runs scored and 10 RBI to lead the Rams to a 15-12 win at Martinsville in Egyptian Illini Conference action on Thursday. The Rams jumped on the board early with two first inning runs before Martinsville tied the game up 2-2 at the end of two innings. The Rams would have a big 6-run top of the third to take the lead again, 8-2. Again, Martinsville would answer, with five runs this time, as the Rams continued to lead, 8-7. A run in fourth and another in the fifth would push the Ramsey lead to 10-7 before Martinsville pulled back to within a run, but the Rams continued to hold the lead, 10-9. The Rams tacked on another two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but again the Blue Streaks battled back with three runs to tie the game up at 12-12 and send the game to extra innings. Ramsey kept their offense rolling in the top of the eight, putting up three runs for a 15-12 lead and then kept Martinsville scoreless in the bottom of the eighth for the win. Olivia Carroll led the Rams with 4 runs and 6 RBI while Mia Waggoner and Macy Wright had three hits and runs scored each and Kaylee Cox had three hits and two runs scored. Ramsey is now 3-11 on the season and 2-1 in the EIC.
