It took almost 3 hours, saw a combined 29 runs, 27 hits, 17 walks and 4 hit batters as the Altamont Indians were able to come away with the 18 to 11 win on Wednesday at Vandalia Mutual Field.

Altamont got rolling early in the ballgame with 3 runs in the 1st inning and then 6 runs in the 2nd inning.  The Vandals also hit well and cut it to a 9 to 5 game after 2 innings.  Altamont built the lead to 15 to 5 heading to the 5th inning with a chance to win it then.  But, the Vandals instead would put up 6 runs and cut it to a 15 to 11 game at that point.  Altamont would then tack on 3 insurance runs they didn’t need in the top of the 7th on the way to their to the victory.

For Altamont, they are now 13-5 on the season and are at Beecher City to take on CHBC today.  The Vandals have now lost 5 in a row to fall to 7-9 on the season.  The Vandals will host Carlinville on Friday in SCC action.
