Ramsey and Patoka-Odin each suffered losses while top seed Hillsboro and #5 seed Windsor/Stew-Stras picked up wins to move into the championship semifinals.
In Tuesday night’s first game, Ramsey fell behind early 16-11 in the first quarter and the Rams were outscored 18-12 in the second quarter as they trailed 34-23 at halftime. Hillsboro would go on a 25-5 run to pull away from Ramsey in the third, 59-28, before closing out the 71-32 win over the Rams. Ramsey will now move into the consolation bracket semifinals where they will face Patoka-Odin on Thursday and Hillsboro advances to the championship semifinals to face Windsor/Stew-Stras.
In the second game, Patoka-Odin and WSS would be tied up 16-16 at the end of the first quarter before WSS pulled ahead 26-22 at halftime. WSS would outscore the Warriors 16-13 in the third to pull ahead 42-35 heading into the fourth quarter. P-O would go on a 20-13 run to tie things up 55-55 at the end of regulation but WSS would outscore the Warriors 8-3 in overtime to take the 63-55 win. WSS will move into the championship semifinals to face Hillsboro while Patoka-Odin will take on Ramsey in the consolation semifinals.
The tournament will continue tonight with two more quarterfinal games. At 6:15pm, host and #2 seed St. Elmo-Brownstown will take on #7 Mulberry Grove followed by #3 CHBC facing #6 Cumberland at 7:45pm.
