After two years of not being held due to COVID-19, the Greenville Comet Invitational returns on Saturday. The meet features the hometown Comets and the Vandalia Vandals as well as South Central Schools Carlinville, Hillsboro, and Pana and North Mac who will enter the SCC next school year. Springfield area schools Rochester and Pleasant Plains will be in attendance as well as teams from Trenton Wesclin, Columbia, Metro East Lutheran, First Baptist Academy O’Fallon, Alton Marquette, Breese Central, Mattoon, Olympia, Dupo, Highland and Jerseyville.
Field event start with Pole Vault at 9:15am (girls first followed by boys), the remaining field events will start at 9:30am with Girls Shot Put, Boys Discus, Boys High Jump and also Girls and Boys Long Jump which will be running at the same time using two runways. Running events will begin at 10:30am.
