(Undated) — It didn’t take long for things between the MLB and MLBPA to break down again. After optimistic reports the two sides could be coming closer together, things aren’t close again as commissioner Rob Manfred has rejected the MLBPA’s latest proposal. A day after the league proposed a 60-game season with full prorated pay and expanded playoffs, the players came back at 70. Manfred says he told MLBPA executive director Tony Clark that the amount of games was not possible citing concerns over COVID-19 and extending the season.

(Florham Park, NJ) — A star safety wants out of the big apple. According to reports, Jets safety Jamal Adams wants a trade out of New York. The 24-year-old reportedly has a list of teams he’d like to be traded to. Among those are the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys. Trade rumors involving Adams have circulated throughout the offseason.

(Nashville, TN) — 49ers star wideout Deebo Samuel will be on the shelf until early in the season. According to the NFL Network, Samuel broke his foot during a workout with teammates in Nashville. The injury is a Jones Fracture and Samuel had surgery on Thursday. Reports state he should be able to return early in the season.

(Stillwater, OK) — Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy is finding himself at the center of controversy again. The head coach is being accused of allegedly using a racial slur while he played for the Cowboys in 1989. Alfred Williams, a former linebacker for Colorado, alleges the coach used a racial slur toward him when they met on the gridiron in 1989. Williams is one of many Buffaloes who allege the coach used the slur while he quarterbacked Oklahoma State to a 41-17 loss against Colorado. Oklahoma State’s athletic department says it has no comment regarding the allegation.
>>SEC Commissioner Warns No Championship Events In Mississippi Until Flag Change
(Undated) — SEC commissioner Greg Sankey is taking a stance against the confederate flag. Sankey is threatening to not host any future conference championship events in the state until the state changes its flag, which has the confederate symbol. There hasn’t been a championship event in the state since 2016 and both Ole Miss and Mississippi State have since stopped flying the state flag at events. Mississippi State University president Mark Keenum says he understands the commissioner’s stance. Ole Miss chancellor Glenn Boyce released a statement saying the flag doesn’t represent many of their values. He also supported the changing of the flag.
