>>NASCAR To Return May 17th

(Undated)  —  NASCAR will restart its season in just a few weeks.  The first race will be May 17th without fans at Darlington Raceway in South Carolina.  NASCAR will run seven races in 11 days across its three national series.  Practice and qualifying has been eliminated for events except the Cocoa-Cola 600.

>>Bengals Release QB Dalton

(Cincinnati, OH)  —  The Joe Burrow era is likely to start sooner than later in Cincinnati.  The Bengals have released veteran quarterback Andy Dalton, paving the way for Burrow to start in his rookie season.  Cincinnati made the LSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner the top pick in last week’s draft.

>>Second Spring Training Could Take Place At Home Parks

(Undated)  —  A second spring training for MLB teams could take place at their home ballpark.  USA Today cites four team execs as saying the league is preparing for that possibility to save time, money and travel.  With New York being so hard hit by COVID-19, the Yankees and Mets could opt to go back to Florida.

>>Little League World Series Canceled

(South Williamsport, PA)  —  For the first time ever, there will be no Little League World Series this year.  It’s been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.  Regional tournaments and championships in other Little League divisions have also been canceled.  All events are expected to return next summer.

>>NHL Considering Late Start For 2020-21

(New York, NY)  —  The NHL could start next season several months late in order to finish this season and the playoffs.  Commissioner Gary Bettman tells NHL Network there’s no magic to beginning in October as they traditionally do.  Bettman says a November or even December start will be considered.
