>>Brady Gets Boot From Closed Tampa Park

(Tampa, FL)  —  Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady got the boot from a closed park in Florida.  Mayor Jane Castor said at a press briefing that the current Bucs QB was spotted by a staff member working out on his own.  Parks are closed in Tampa and Brady was asked to leave.

>>A-Rod, J-Lo Making Moves For Mets Bid

(New York, NY)  —  Former Yankees star Alex Rodriguez and his fiancee, pop star Jennifer Lopez, are making moves in an effort to buy the Mets.  The Post reports they’ve retained J.P. Morgan Chase to assist with the bidding process.  The couple would likely be part of a larger ownership group.

>>MLB To Allow Manager, Coach Layoffs Next Month

(New York, NY)  —  MLB will allow major and minor-league teams to reduce pay or lay off managers, coaches, trainers and full-time scouts starting May 1st.  Uniform employee contracts are being suspended, affecting about nine-thousand.  Some clubs say they’ll pay employees through May.

>>Nearly Half Of Major Sports Events Projected To Be Canceled In 2020

(Undated)  —  The coronavirus is expected to cancel nearly half of this year’s major sports events.  Two Circles sports marketing agency projects only 53-percent of scheduled events will actually take place during 2020.  That counts events with expected attendance of at least five-thousand.

>>Supreme Court Won’t Hear Rams Lawsuit

(St. Louis, MO)  —  The United State Supreme Court will not hear a case involving the Rams’ move to Los Angeles.  The city of St. Louis, St. Louis County and others parties filed a suit against the Rams alleging breach of contract and other violations.  The Supreme Court’s decision now means that the case will either be heard in St. Louis County or settled out of court.
