Even though the girls basketball season has been over for many weeks now, the accolades continue to come in for players in the I70Sports area.
Last week, the Decatur Herald & Review released its yearly All Area Girls Basketball teams.
Brownstown-St. Elmo senior guard Claire Wilhour was named as a member of the Herald & Review’s All Area First Team while BSE junior guard Olivia Campbell and senior center Natalie Oberlink were both named Herald & Review All Area Honorable Mention.
From Vandalia, junior guard Madyson Hill and senior guard Lanee McNary were both named Herald & Review Honorable Mention.
From South Central, sophomore guard Laney Webster was named Herald & Review All Area Honorable Mention.
Over the weekend, the Champaign News-Gazette released its 43rd Annual All State Girls Basketball Team. While most outlets choose players from just their coverage area, the News-Gazette recognizes players from across the entire state of Illinois, with no separation by class.
Greenville senior center Megan Hallemann and Brownstown-St. Elmo senior guard Claire Wilhour were both named to the Honorable Mention 100 team.
