
The Kaskaskia College softball season was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic but not before the Angels were able to get 14 games in over the course of 7 days. Suiting up for the Angels in those games were sophomore Alyssa Dothager of Mulberry Grove, freshman Kaitlyn Mills of Vandalia and freshmen Jaidyn Ackerman and Nancy Fritzsche of Greenville.
Ackerman played in 11 of KC’s 14 games. Jaidyn was 7-of-14 at the plate in those games with 3 RBI, 4 runs scored and 7 stolen bases. Those totaled up to a .500 batting average with a .500 on base percentage and .643 slugging percentage.
Mills played in 5 games for the Angels with 4 of those appearances coming on the mound. Kaitlyn pitched 13 1/3 innings allowing 7 runs (6 earned) and 17 hits while striking out 2 giving Mills a 3.15 ERA. She also had one plate appearance and was 1-for-1 with a single and a run scored.
Dothager made appearances in 4 games with 3 of those coming on the mound and the fourth at first base. Alyssa was 1-for-3 at the plate and tallied 7.1 innings pitched with a record of 0-1 and giving up 18 runs on 18 hits while striking out 2 for an ERA of 9.55.
Fritzsche appeared in one game at first base. In that game, Nancy went 1-for-2 with a single and a strikeout.
