Greenville Cheer Receives Top Small Team Preliminary Round Score, Advances to Final Round at State


The Greenville High School cheer team has advanced to the Finals of the 2020 IHSA Competitive Cheer State Finals.

Not only did Greenville place in the Top 10 for the small team division, but the Comets also received the highest preliminary round score in the division, scoring 91.03 for their routine.

Greenville will now compete in Saturday’s Finals and are scheduled to perform at 11:30am. The Small Team division awards will then be announced at 12:45pm

The State Finals are being held at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington. Doors will open at 10:00am on Saturday morning. The welcome and National Anthem will be at 10:55am and performances will start at 11:00am. Tickets are $10 for the session and can be purchased at the arena box office or can be purchased beforehand at ticketmaster.com.

Varsity team members competing for the Comets this weekend are Kaylan Lile, Nevaeh Haas, Trista Kinkel, Elena Valentin, Kyley Sugg, Sophie Warchol, Alli Suess, Abby Wall, Kelsie Hemann, Avery Cantrill, Lily Prater, Lilee Joiner. The team is coached by Amanda Goldsboro (Varsity) and  Allyson Loucks (JV).
