BSE's Claire Wilhour Breaks SEHS All-Time Scoring Record

Brownstown-St. Elmo senior guard Claire Wilhour added another record to her already many accomplishments she has achieved in her high school career.

With just over 2 minutes gone in the first quarter of BSE’s non-conference matchup at Ramsey on Thursday night, Wilhour pulled up and hit a 10-foot jump shot to notch her 1,739th career point. That mark put her ahead of 2007 St. Elmo grad Logan Mahon who had surpassed 2004 grad Katy (Heckert) Noble’s mark of 1,638 points during his senior year to set the new all-time scoring record for St. Elmo High School at 1,738 prior to Wilhour’s surpassing that total Thursday night.

BSE Coach Brian Pruett says the record is certainly something Wilhour has worked very hard for and very much deserves.

With 23 points in the game, Wilhour now stands at 1,757 career points with two regular season games and the postseason left to go in her high school career.

Wilhour will continue to play basketball next year at the collegiate level as she has signed to play for Parkland College.
