The Vandalia Vandals continued their strong play in the summer portion of their basketball schedule, going 3-1 on the second day of their first summer shootout. The Vandals started the day with a 47-30 win over Greenfield and a slim 36-34 win over Illini West. Vandalia then began the tournament portion of the shootout, earning a 29-12 win over Patoka/Odin, before falling to Sullivan 31-27. After the day, Vandals coach Joe Vanzo said he’s proud of how his team competed the last two days.
The Vandals will have a week off from shootout games before hosting their second shootout of the summer, June 23rd, where they will take on Altamont, Effingham, and St. Elmo/Brownstown.
