Vandalia senior sprinter Kohnor Depew capped off his senior track season and his high school sports career with a 6th place finish in the 200m Dash at the IHSA 1A Boys Track State Finals on Saturday. Depew ran a time of 22.02 seconds in the Finals for 6th place, running just two-tenths of a second off of his personal best time of 21.82 seconds that he ran in the Prelims on Thursday. This is the second time Depew has medaled in the event after turning in a 6th place finish in last year’s State Finals as well. Depew also competed in the 100m Dash in this year’s State meet, finishing 12th with a time of 10.92 seconds and also ran the anchor leg of the 4×200 relay that finished 24th with a time of 1:33.16. This year’s State Finals wrap up what has been a highly successful athletic career for Depew at ACHS and he will continue on at the collegiate level. Depew will continue his athletic career on the football field as he will play football at Millikin University.
