This year’s Memorial Day holiday is also bringing with it the start of the IHSA baseball postseason and four I70Sports area teams will be in action in quarterfinal games today. This morning at 11:00am, #10 seed Ramsey-Mulberry Grove will be at #7 Brownstown-St. Elmo to play in the quarterfinal game of the Morrisonville 1A Regional. The winner will move into the first semifinal game of the regional to face #2 seed and regional host Morrisonville on Wednesday at 4:30pm. This evening in quarterfinal action of the North Clay 1A Regional, ninth-seeded CHBC will be at #8 seed South Central with game time set for 4:30pm at Lions Field in Kinmundy. The winner will advance into the first semifinal game on Wednesday to take on #1 seed and regional host North Clay at 4:00pm in Louisville.
The remaining two area teams will be in action on Wednesday at 4:30pm as they will begin postseason play in the semifinals. Altamont is hosting their own 1A Regional and will play in the first semifinal game on Wednesday against the winner of the quarterfinal matchup between Lawrenceville and Cumberland with the winner moving on to the Regional Championship game on Saturday. Vandalia is also hosting its own 2A Regional and will begin play in the semifinal round. The sixth-seeded Vandals will take on #4 seed St. Anthony at 2:00pm Wednesday at I70 Media Field with the winner to advance on to the Regional Championship game on Saturday.
