Ramsey-Mulberry Grove Can't Overcome 7-run Second Inning in Loss to Morrisonville-Lincolnwood


The Ramsey-Mulberry Grove Rams allowed 7 runs in the top of the second inning, and could not keep up, falling to the Morrisonville-Lincolnwood Mohawks 16-2. The Rams took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI single from Braxton Moreland, before the Mohawks broke the game open in the top of the second inning with a 7-run frame to take a 7-1 lead. Morrisonville-Lincolnwood tacked on 9 runs in the third inning to extend their lead to 16-1, before Ramsey-Mulberry Grove tacked on a run in the bottom of the fourth, but the deficit was too much to overcome, falling to the Mohawks 16-2. The Rams finish the regular season with a 0-20 record. Ramsey-Mulberry Grove will start postseason play on Monday, taking on the Brownstown/St. Elmo Bombers in the quarterfinals of the IHSA Regionals.
