The Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City Bobcats jumped out to an early 5-0 first-inning lead, and never looked back, coming away with an 8-3 win over the South Central Cougars on Tuesday. That score held until the bottom of the third, when Hudson Moore doubled to score Luke Shumate, and a Garrett Shumate single allowed Moore to come across, cutting the deficit to 5-2. Connor Vaughn responded with an RBI double to score Kale Hardimon, pushing the CHBC lead to 6-2. The Cougars cut the Bobcats lead in half in the bottom of the fifth inning when Aiden Hoover reached on an error, making the score 6-3. That score remained until the top of the seventh inning when Miller hit a sacrifice fly to score Vaughn, before a Daithyn Arnold single scored Ondes, giving CHBC an 8-3 lead, and the Cougars were held scoreless in the bottom of the seventh, falling to the Bobcats 8-3.
