Rain Forces Shifts in Softball Postseason Schedules


Rain throughout the day in the area on Monday delayed the start of the softball postseason and has already put some contingency plans in place.

In Class 1A, in quarterfinal action as part of the Altamont Regional, #8 seed St. Elmo-Brownstown will host #9 seed CHBC today at Deken Park at 4:30pm with the winner moving into the semifinal game against #1 seed Casey-Westfield that has also been postponed a day and is now set for Wednesday at 4:30pm in Altamont. The semifinal game between Altamont and Central A&M has also been set back a day and will be held on Wednesday at 6:00pm following the first semifinal game.

Also in Class 1A, as part of the White Hall North Greene Regional, #7 seed Ramsey will host #10 seed Mulberry Grove today now at Ramsey High School at 4:30pm after being postponed from Monday. The winner of that game will move into the first semifinal game against #2 seed Hardin Calhoun that has been pushed back to Wednesday at 4:30pm in White Hall.

In Class 2A, the #10 seed Vandalia Lady Vandals will be at Staunton today to take on the #8 seed Bulldogs in quarterfinal action with game time set for 4:30pm. The winner will advance to take on #1 seed Greenville on Wednesday with game time set for 4:00pm in Vandalia.
