Five area teams get their postseasons underway as the IHSA Softball postseason gets underway with Regionals across the state. In Class 2A, Vandalia will go on the road today for their quarterfinal game despite hosting the Regional. The #10 seed Lady Vandals travel to Staunton to face the #8 seed Bulldogs with gametime set for 4:30pm. The winner will advance to take on #1 seed Greenville on Tuesday at 4:00pm in Vandalia.
In Class 1A, four area teams will match up against each other in quarterfinal action. In the Altamont Regional, #8 seed St. Elmo-Brownstown will host #9 seed CHBC today at Deken Park at 4:30pm with the winner moving into the semifinals against #1 seed Casey-Westfield on Tuesday at 4:30pm in Altamont. In the White Hall North Greene Regional, #7 seed Ramsey will host #10 seed Mulberry Grove today at Ramsey High School at 4:30pm. The winner of that game will move into the first semifinal game against #2 seed Hardin Calhoun on Tuesday at 4:30pm in White Hall.
