Vandalia’s Brown Qualifies for Fourth Straight IHSA 1A State Track Meet; Full Individual Sectional Results

Vandalia senior thrower Hannah Brown has qualified for the IHSA 1A State Track Meet for the fourth straight year after taking the top spot in the Shot Put at the Newton 1A Sectional on Thursday. Brown had a best throw of 11.18 meters or 36’ 8.25”. Brown is already a two-time state medalist in the event, taking fourth place as a junior last year and ninth place during her sophomore year. Brown will throw in the 1A State Prelims on Thursday at 11:00am at Eastern Illinois University.

Vandalia Individual Sectional Finishes:

Hannah Brown – Shot Put, 1^st Place (11.18m) and Discus, 5^th Place (32.81m)

Harper Towne – 100m Dash, 12^th (13.92 seconds), 200m Dash, 12^th (28.93 seconds)

Destinee Rine – 100m Dash, 15^th (14.31 seconds), 400m Dash, 7^th (1:08.03), High Jump, 10^th (4’ 7.75”)

Joselyn Murray – 800m Run, 12^th (2:53.21) and 1600m Run, 12^th (6:34.04)

Cheyann Flowers – 100m Hurdles, 10^th (19.43 seconds), 200m Dash, 16^th (30.09 seconds) and Discus, ND

Neveah Sachan – 100m Hurdles, 11^th (19.52 seconds), Long Jump, 14^th (4.26m) and Triple jump, 12^th (8.73m)

Raygan Shelby – Triple Jump, 25^th (3.65m)
