Altamont’s Bauer and Starnes Qualify for IHSA 1A State Track Meet; Full Altamont Individual Sectional Results

A pair of Altamont freshman are headed to the IHSA 1A State Track Meet after qualifying with performances at the Newton 1A Sectional. Kara Bauer surpassed the qualifying mark for Discus in the preliminary round and that was her best throw on the day after Finals as she placed third with a personal best throw of 111’. Baileigh Starnes came in under the qualifying time in the 400m Dash as she took 3^rd place in the event with a time of 1:01.54 that is also her season best time in the event. Bauer and Starnes will compete in the 1A State Prelims on Thursday at Eastern Illinois University. Both will compete in the afternoon with the approximate time pending per the completion of other events.

Baileigh Starnes – 100m Dash, 9^th Place, 13.60 seconds; 200m Dash, 10^th Place, 28.38 seconds and 400m Dash, 3^rd Place, 1:01.54

Kara Bauer – Discus, 3^rd Place, 111’ and Shot Put, 8^th Place, 29’ 6”

Keely Fleeharty – High Jump, 8^th Place, 4’ 10.25”

Quincy Niermann – 100m Dash, 11^th Place, 13.86 seconds and 200m Dash, 11^th Place, 28.57 seconds

Jenna Kollman – Discus, 9^th Place, 101’ 3.75” and Shot Put, 17^th Place, 25’ 1.5”

Katie Tedrick – 800m Run, 10^th Place, 2:46.75 and 300m Hurdles, 13^th Place, 58.78 seconds
