Altamont Jumps Out to Early Lead for Win Over Calhoun


The Altamont Indians jumped out to a 3-0 first-inning lead and never looked back, coming away with a 4-1 win over the Calhoun Warriors. After Kade and Carson Milleville led off with back-to-back singles, Brayden Elam singled to score Kade, giving Altamont a 1-0 lead. Cooper McManaway grounded into a fielder’s choice, allowing Carson Milleville to score, pushing the Indians lead to 2-0. Kaiden Wolff then doubled to right field to score McManaway, capping off a 3-run first inning for Altamont. That score held until the bottom of the fifth inning when Calhoun scored on an RBI double to cut the deficit to 3-1. The Indians got the run back in the top of the sixth inning when Kade Milleville singled to score Kale Davis, extending the lead to 4-1. Kade proceeded to retire the next six batters he faced, securing the 4-1 victory. Altamont is now 20-8 on the season. The Indians will be back home on Tuesday, taking on St. Anthony.
