The Altamont Indians used a 3-run sixth inning, and a dominant pitching performance from Kade Milleville to come away with a 6-0 win over the Dieterich Moovin’ Maroons on Friday. After three scoreless innings, the Indians broke the tie when Brayden Elam smoked a solo home run, giving Altamont a 1-0 lead. The Indians added on to their lead in the top of the fifth inning on a Carson Milleville sacrifice fly and an RBI single from Zaine Miller, making the score 3-0. Altamont broke the game open in the top of the sixth inning with a Will Reardon sacrifice fly, a Reed Stuemke RBI groundout, and a Kade Milleville RBI single, extending their lead to 6-0. Millville proceeded to hold Dieterich to one baserunner over the next two innings, securing the Indians’ 6-0 win. The win improves Altamont to 18-7 on the season. The Indians will have a quick turnaround on Saturday, taking on Arcola in a doubleheader.
