Our Spin and Spray Highlight of the Week for May 2 comes from Thursday’s 6-0 for Vandalia baseball over Brownstown-St. Elmo.
Junior pitcher Qwentyn Stombaugh had a dominant game scattering three hits across his seven innings of work while giving up no runs and no walks and striking out 12 of the 25 batters he faced in the game to earn the complete game shutout win. In the game, senior leadoff hitter Kohnor Depew had one of his best game at the plate as he went 4 for 4. Depew also used his speed on the basepaths to score four runs for the Vandals accounting for two-thirds of the runs scored in the game.
