South Central racked up 15 runs on 15 hits while St. Elmo-Brownstown struggled to score more than a run on their 7 hits as the Lady Cougars beat the Lady Eagles 15-1 on Tuesday. An RBI double from Kinlee Thompson in the top of the first inning and an RBI single in the top of the second inning from Maddie Peddicord that scored a run put South Central up 2-0 early. They doubled that lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning on an RBI single by Emmie Ruholl and another run coming in on a Lady Eagle error. SEB was able to start moving their offense in the bottom of the third inning with a leadoff single from Macy Claycomb followed by a single by Kadence Speagle and an RBI single by Dayana Haslett that scored Claycomb to cut South Central’s lead down to three runs, 4-1. The Lady Cougars again doubled their lead in the top of the fourth inning as Lauren Johnson hit a three-run home run to left field and an RBI single by Emily Rose pushed the South Central lead to 8-1. After Perci Redi singled in a run and Rose doubled in two more runs to push the lead out to 11-0, an SEB error allowed two more runs to score for a 13-1 lead. A groundout by Kyndl Bolen and a single by A Sullens brought in the final two South Central runs of the game to give the Lady Cougars the 15-1 win.
