Ramsey bust the game open early with a 10-run second inning and closed out the 16-0 win over Mulberry Grove as freshman pitcher Anna Benhoff tossed a four inning no-hitter on Monday. The Lady Rams put up four runs in the first inning on back to back singles from Violet Williams and Anne Benhoff that pushed in three runs and a two out single from Rynn Hewitt brought in one more run for a 4-0 Ramsey lead to end the first inning. A bases loaded two out single from Grace Eller to left field put two runs across the plate and a batter later, a Lady Aces error allowed another Ramsey to score for a 7-0 lead early in the bottom of the second inning. A bases loaded triple from Kaylianna Morrison cleared the bases to push the lead to 10-0 before Mia Waggoner singled in two more runs for a 12-0 lead. Two final runs scored in the inning on a Mulberry Grove error on a Summer Sampson single that put Ramsey up 14-0 by the end of the second inning. The Rams loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the third inning with two outs and Benhoff drew a walk to bring a run in and Sampson was hit by a pitch in the next at bat as one more run scored for a 16-0 Ramsey lead. Mulberry Grove was able to get their second base runner of the game on via a walk in the top of the fourth inning after getting two outs by strike out, but Benhoff’s third strikeout of the inning ended the game and sealed the 16-0 win for the Rams and gave Benhoff the win on the mound by no-hitter.
