CHBC softball struggled to overcome six errors as they suffered a 17-2 loss to St. Anthony in National Trail Conference softball action at home on Monday. The Lady Bulldogs put up seven runs in the first inning, five more in the second and one in the third inning as the Lady Bobcats trailed 13-0 heading into the bottom of the third inning. With one out, CHBC got back to back singles from Carissa Wakefield and Allison Shields to put runners at first and second. After CHBC picked up their second out of the inning, Ryleigh Sarver doubled to left field to bring both Wakefield and Shields in and cut St. Anthony’s lead to 13-2. That was it for the Lady Bobcats scoring though as St. Anthony tacked on three more runs in the fourth inning and one in the fifth inning as CHBC suffered the 17-2 loss. The Lady Bobcats drop to 1-6 on the season and will play at Vandalia on Thursday.
