Altamont Can't Get Offense Going in NTC Loss to Dieterich

Altamont softball was held to just one run on three hits coming up short in a 6-1 loss to Dieterich in a National Trail Conference battle on Monday. Dieterich scored first in the game putting up a run in the top of the first inning but the Lady Indians answered in the bottom half of the first as Laila Hankins hit a hard ground ball that resulted in a Dieterich error and allowed Avery Fleeharty to score and tie the game up at 1-1. Each team was held scoreless in the second inning, but Dieterich was able to put four runs on the scoreboard in the top of the third inning to regain the lead and go up 5-1. Altamont was held scoreless over the next two innings and Dieterich broke through again with a run in the top of the fifth inning to extend their lead to 6-1. That would be that last run of the game scored as both teams went scoreless in the sixth and seventh innings. Altamont drops to 1-7 on the season and to 1-2 in the NTC. They are back in action today with another NTC matchup, going on the road to face South Central.

Altamont Offense:
