CHBC Softball's Late Surge Not Enough in Loss to OPS

CHBC softball made a late run with a five-run fifth inning but could not catch Odin-Patoka-Sandoval in a 16-6 loss at home on Tuesday. OPS took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second and added three runs in the top of the fourth inning to make the lead 4-0 before a seven-run top of the fifth had the Lady Bobcats trailing OPS 11-0. CHBC got things moving in the bottom of the fifth and cut the OPS lead down to 11-5. The Eagles scored four more runs to push their lead over CHBC out to 15-5 and the Lady Bobcats answered with a run in the bottom half of the inning to cut their deficit to 15-6 and send the game to the seventh inning. OPS added on one more run to make it 16-6 but the Lady Bobcats were unable to answer as they suffered the 16-6 loss. CHBC is now 1-5 on the season and will be back in action at home on Thursday against Mulberry Grove.
