BSE Baseball Shutout by Neoga


BSE baseball was held to just a pair of hits in a 5-0 loss to Neoga at home on Tuesday. Neoga put up two runs in the top of the first inning to take an early lead. The Bombers picked up their first hit of the game on a double by Logan Lach in the bottom half of the inning but he was stranded on base when a strikeout ended the inning. The next three innings went by scoreless before Neoga edged their lead out to 3-0 with a run in the top of the fifth. An inning later, BSE got their second hit of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning as Jayce Gillespie singled with one out, but a strikeout and a fly out ended the inning and stranded Gillespie on base. Neoga tacked on two more runs in the top of the seventh inning to go up 5-0, but BSE was held scoreless again in the bottom of the seventh on a pair of groundouts and a strike out as they suffered the 5-0 loss. BSE drops to 2-3 on the season and will be back in action Thursday when they host South Central.
