CHBC softball picked up their first win of the season Monday, beating North Clay 16-6 in National Trail Conference action. The Lady Bobcats scored early and often putting up five runs in the first inning, four more in the second inning and had another five-run inning in the third for a 14-4 lead and then capped it off with a pair of runs in the fourth for a 16-4 lead. North Clay was able to tack on a pair of runs in the top of the fifth to close it to 16-6 but the Bobcats held the Cardinals to just the two runs to close out the 16-6 run rule win. Briley Prater got the win on the mound for the Bobcats going all five innings and Allison Shields had a strong day at the plate going 4 for 4 with a double and scoring four runs batting in the leadoff spot for the Lady Bobcats and Prater helped herself with three RBI in the game. CHBC is now 1-4 on the season and will be at home again today as they host Odin.
