The South Central Cougars went 0-2 on Saturday in a round robin, falling to the Vandalia Vandals 10-0 and the Breese Mater Dei Knights 13-1 at I70Media Field. The Cougars got down 5-0 to the Vandals after the first inning, and allowed three runs in the second inning, and one in each the third and fourth innings, and were held to just four hits, falling to the Vandals 10-0 in five innings. South Central fell behind in the second game to Mater Dei 4-0 after the first inning, and the Knights added two runs in the second, and one in the third and fourth innings. The Cougars would get their lone run back in the fourth inning, but Mater Dei would break the game open with a 5-run fifth to come away with the 13-1 win. The Cougars fall to 1-3 on the season. South Central will be on the road on Monday to take on Altamont at 6:30 PM.
