Altamont softball couldn’t solve Greenville pitcher Ava Potthast on Thursday as the Lady Indians were held to just two hits in a 10-0 loss at home. The Comets grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and added on another three runs in the second inning for a 5-0 lead. Altamont held Greenville scoreless in the third inning but the Comets were able to post four runs in the fourth inning for a 9-0 lead before capping off their scoring with a run in the fifth for 10-0 lead. The Lady Indians only two hits on the day both came from catcher Ella Nelson batting in the #2 spot in the order. Altamont will have the weekend off and will be looking to bounce back on Monday when they go on the road to face Nokomis to kick off a week of four games in five days.
