Rough Fourth Inning Dooms CHBC in Loss at Pana


CHBC played Pana tight for three and a half innings before the Panthers bust the game open in the bottom of the fourth and handed the Bobcats a 12-2 loss on Monday. CHBC was held scoreless for the first four innings as Pana scored 11 unanswered runs, including 10 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Bobcats would put both of their runs across the plate in the top of the fifth inning as Clive Schlanser scored from third on an error by the Pana catcher and then Ben Askins singled to score Kale Hardimon from third base to cut Pana’s lead to 11-2 before Pana scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning to trigger the run rule as CHBC fell to the Panthers 12-2. CHBC is now 0-2 to start the season and will be on the road again on Thursday when they play at Cumberland.
